5-9-11 Jon's Phone Call Yesterday!! Basketball & Ping Pong :)

Hello everyone! Here is pretty much the gist of Jon's email today...

TODAY WE WENT TO A PARK AND PLAYED BASKETBALL WHICH WAS THE FIRST TIME IN BRAZIL FOR ME. IT WAS FUN, JUST THAT IT STARTED RAINING AFTER A LITTLE BIT SO WE HAD TO LEAVE. WE WENT TO THE CHURCH AND STARTED PLAYING PING PONG, AND I BEAT EVERYBODY! HAHA. IT'S STILL RAINING.

Since we had a great phone call with him yesterday, we basically caught up on all his news and he caught up on ours. It was WONDERFUL to hear his voice! Because he has been living with English-speaking Elders, along with his Portuguese-only companion, he didn't seem to have a Brazilian accent when he spoke English, and hearing him speak a little bit of Portuguese to Tom, he seems to be doing very well in the language.

He is probably being transferred again tomorrow (not totally confirmed yet)--this time with his companion, Elder Wagner. The mission president is taking Jon & Elder Wagner out of the area they are currently serving in and sending them to Camaragibe--west and a little north of Recife. (It's pronounced  Cah mah rah ZHEE bee). They will share a ward with the Elders who are currently serving there. Jon is looking forward to the new area.

Jon is glad that Elder Wagner wants to work hard, so they get along well! Elder Wagner will be going home in about a month.

Jon is doing well, but I'm sure would appreciate your continued prayers. He says hello to everyone!

Have a great week!
Love to all!
Lori
